Smiles of Yesterday

                                    laughter and giggles fading away time that we remember in a different way a younger age dates were written the setting, the clothing hints of what era, what age, what location relive our memories is this happy is this a place we wanted to be joys of love and memories times gone by people who touched our lives milestones of life our ambitions our dreams our life’s photographs  

Haiku and other poems

I always love to write poems, whether it is  Haiku or just scribbling. Sometimes I start with word  prompts while other times the words just flow. So with pen in hand here are a few of mine. The last poem was written and published in a local free newspaper when I was just 20 years old.  Do you write poems? What is your style? How do you get inspired? Feel free to leave a comment. Autumn Leaves

  autumn leaves fall gracefully showering down colorful carpet   This is one of my Haiku poem written ten years ago. What is a Haiku poem, you say. It is a Japanese poem of seventeen syllables, in three lines of five, seven, and five, traditionally evoking images of the natural world.     I have written many poems through the years. When in high school, during American Government class as my mind wandered, instead of taking notes, I would write poems. But alas, through the years and moving from the west coast to the Midwest, and several moves after, my poems were lost.    Autumn Leaves was written one day after visiting the St. Louis Art museum. It was the first time that I had ventured out on my own and explored a new area. I was in need of a mental day, I had lost my son three years prior.
