You Grow Girl

I was at Menards the other day getting gardening supplies and window shopping, looking at all the goodies I would love to put in my yard. I came across a book called "You Grow Girl" by Gayla Trail, for $6.00. I figured I can't go wrong at that price. It has everything from planning to planting to cute little projects. The projects are marked from "easy peasy" to "get down and dirty". It is a handy little book, since my gardening expertise is at a minumum. I am fortunate to have two neighbors who help me out. Both have beautiful yards. One looks like an English garden, the other is more formal. Myself, I am kinda in between. I like both, so mine is a mixture. My plan this Spring is to landscape the side yard and have a patio poured in the back yard. I was given free patio furniture and it needs a place to sit. So I am taking advantage of the beautiful weather we have been enjoying the last several days, and digging in the dirt.....

So, how does your garden grow....

Personality Plus

I found a new blog site ... /www.reneeswope.blogspot.com/ .....she talks about, Florence Littauer's book Personality Plus...in this book four personalities are mentioned 1. Phlegmatic 2. Choleric 3. Sanguine 4. Melancholy I have not only read this book and taken the personality test years ago, but I had the privilege in going to a church Woman's conference and Florence was the guest speaker in 1996. She is an excellent speaker, and the book is quite interesting. I have taken several personality test, through the years either in school or through work. I have read "Please Understand Me II" by David Keirsey about temperament, character and intelligence and "Now, Discover Your Strengths" by Marcus Buckingham and Donald Clifton, PhD. These books are interesting, informative, thought provoking and motivating. They not only tell you about your personality, but about those around you. They teach you about other's personalities. LOOK UP!

When I graduated in 2011 with master’s degree the theme of the ceremony was “Look up!” Everyone has their eyes focused on their laptops, iPad, cell phones, TV etc. “Look up!” is the newest version to “Stop and smell the roses”.   There is a whole world out there, the world is passing you by, everything that happens in this world affects you. We stay at a condo on the beach every winter when visiting my family in Florida for Christmas. The seagulls fly by our 8 th story balcony every year and every day. Alas, every year I say “Hey, look at the birds”.   Unfortunately, no one listens, and they miss out. However, this year they accidently saw the birds, it was a fluke. They were so excited and talked for several minutes about this event. They acted like this was the first time it happened. Well…LOOK UP! The last 2 Christmases I saw dolphins in the water when looking out our condo window. Did anyone else see them? No, the computers, TV and cell phones were much more ...
