Personality Plus

I found a new blog site ... /www.reneeswope.blogspot.com/ .....she talks about, Florence Littauer's book Personality Plus...in this book four personalities are mentioned

1. Phlegmatic

2. Choleric

3. Sanguine

4. Melancholy

I have not only read this book and taken the personality test years ago, but I had the privilege in going to a church Woman's conference and Florence was the guest speaker in 1996. She is an excellent speaker, and the book is quite interesting. I have taken several personality test, through the years either in school or through work. I have read "Please Understand Me II" by David Keirsey about temperament, character and intelligence and "Now, Discover Your Strengths" by Marcus Buckingham and Donald Clifton, PhD.

These books are interesting, informative, thought provoking and motivating. They not only tell you about your personality, but about those around you. They teach you about other's personalities. It teaches about diversity of personality. Instead of trying to change ones personality, how to learn to appreciate ones personality. You gain by appreciating and lose by ignoring or condemning. You have learn about your own character traits, before you can see others distinct traits.

Wouldn't it be a boring world if everyone looked and acted the same...???

Yes, boring is a very good word for carbon copy people!
I'm very interested in this subject. Thanks for posting about this and providing a link.
I'm heading there now.
All the best,
Eileen

PS ~ Which personality were you? Don't feel pressured to share, I was just wondering.

I've never taken any test but I would bet I'm Melancholy.

Just had to stop and say thank you for sharing that, there is something that really spoke to my heart about how when we compare ourselves to others we can never measure up because we are comparing our insides to their outsides.

Just some things I've been going through and working on. Thank you, Sandy.
Love and Prayers,
Eileen
If I remember correctly, I am Phlegmatic. Interesting side note....Keirsey's "Please Understand Me II" writes about these four personalities in his historical overview chapeter. He quotes Galen "it is neither the stars nor the gods that determine what we want and what we do: rather a balance of our bodily fluids, the four 'humors'. These humors are "Sanguine"--blood, "Melancholic"--black bile, "Choleric"--yellow bile and "Phlegmatic--you guessed it phlegm....although this chapter is interesting, I like the way Florence Littauer approaches it. In addition according to his book I am an Idealist (teacher-counselor).

Hi Sandy. I went to the site. I always am hesitant to find out what others think my personality is....I seem to change from week to week. I hope that things are all right with you. I am thinking of you.
Smiles,
Jackie

Now Sandy this is interesting, I am not sure I could fit into any category, as life has changed me and I like to think for the better. As a wife, mother, even a lady with both breast I was at that time happy, go lucky kind of gal and now being a widow, my son's passing and having breast cancer I have become, I hope a woman of compassion, who loves and appreciates every day, every person and every experience in my life. No, I am not the same as I was but I think I like the person I have become even more, (she says humbly) and I thank God for my blessings every day......:-) Hugs

Summertime, Garage Sales and Flea Markets

Summertime is here and I have been to a local flea market....I had a garage sales the Saturday before Memorial Day to get rid of the old and bring in the new.....or "new to me"..... I found burlap, a picture frame, window sheers, home decor, three accent pillows to go with the new bedspread in the master bedroom....and much, much more.....I even found a free-standing garden trellis for $15.00, original price was $112.00.....looks great in the garden....I have not decide what viney flower I will grow, yet....All in all I spent $30.00 including the trellis... I am still looking for more window treatments for the master bedroom, but there are more garage sales and flea markets out there waiting for me.....Happy Hunting everyone...

LOOK UP!

When I graduated in 2011 with master’s degree the theme of the ceremony was “Look up!” Everyone has their eyes focused on their laptops, iPad, cell phones, TV etc. “Look up!” is the newest version to “Stop and smell the roses”.   There is a whole world out there, the world is passing you by, everything that happens in this world affects you. We stay at a condo on the beach every winter when visiting my family in Florida for Christmas. The seagulls fly by our 8 th story balcony every year and every day. Alas, every year I say “Hey, look at the birds”.   Unfortunately, no one listens, and they miss out. However, this year they accidently saw the birds, it was a fluke. They were so excited and talked for several minutes about this event. They acted like this was the first time it happened. Well…LOOK UP! The last 2 Christmases I saw dolphins in the water when looking out our condo window. Did anyone else see them? No, the computers, TV and cell phones were much more ...
